And No standalone version. So it's goodbye to Lightroom then - I don't want to rent software

How do I download the new Lightroom CC? Doesn't show up in my CC-App on the Mac.

You guys are seriously the best. I any kind of digital photography question I have, you seem to already have a video about. Thanks!

I swiched from Canon dpp 4.10.0 to adobe photography plan, getting lr classic cc and photoshop cc, and really glad I did. I see why people hated the canon software. I'll be investigating your training options.

I've been using Lightroom since version 1 and now time to switch to Capture One! I guess I'm not going to pay subscription.

I suppose I can live with the subscription based model but the new CC at a glance does not look very intuitive or user friendly at all. I was excited about it but now I'll stick with classic because it has the features that I appreciate in my workflow. Thanks for the information Tony! I enjoy your work sir.

I decided about a year ago that I would not allow Adobe to dictate what I use to edit my photos. I switched to DXO Optics elite. Now all my RAW conversions are done there. I am very happy with the results. If one has a Fuji Xtrans sensor DXO is not for you as they are not supported but if you have Canon, Nikon, Sony or Pentax you will be happier with DXO.

Thanks for the bad news. I bought LR six months ago. That Adobe would move towards a subscribtion based model, was clear. How they did this, is nothing less than a rip off and makes one wonder how far they will take it. Does Adobe actually thinks that raising the total cost of ownership for a hobby photographer from around $20 to $120 ( 500 % +) a year, actually goes unnoticed and will have no consequences? I might be a crummy photographer, but I am also an IT-professional. Tony, could you investigate alternatives to LR for Hobby photographers? At this moment, starting any LR-based training seems a waste of time and money. Bye, Edwin (thanks for all your excellent work)

Now i need a new tool to organize and edit my images. I NEVER use photoshop, so even 5$ a month would cost me way more than buying. Time to look out for something new. Good bye Adobe.

Is that healing brush now available for LR for iPad or do you still have to go to PS Fix?

Adobe just gave up on the ability to compete in a sizable part of the prosumer market. Idk about the long term result for them with turning LR entirely subscription based; there is so much competition, and while none is at the lightroom and especially not photoshop level yet, additional funding (which would probably be a smart idea to go for right now) and in due time someone will catch up and offer greater value for the money for prosumers and ppl that don't want / need the latest and all features. IMO they should indefinitely update RAW support for LR 6, offer a LR only subscription for 4.99-ish a month or offer a stripped down LR7 version for a one time purchase. This is a dangerous move but maybe they just want see how many will move to subscription and release the standalone if not enough buy into the month to month thing, idk.

Thanks for the Video Tony! I'm with you, not quite ready to make the Switch to CC. I'll stick with Classic for now. Can't wait to try it and see if it can take advantage of my fast powerful PC!

I too have serious reservations about this subscription-based approach. I will need Photoshop for heavy-duty astrophotography processing, but also need to buy some specialized plug-ins. Concerned that this will be an issue going forward, especially if I'm limited in storage. Fortunately, there are AP specific products out there (Pixinsight for one) that give Photoshop a run for its money. Pixinsight is not cheap at $270, but tons of tutorials and support.

I've never done any editing outside of my camera.... and have been looking into getting LR... I think I'm going to buy LR6 on a disk before it is no longer available. If I buy LR6 will it allow me to also install it later on a new computer if I upgrade? OR, if I buy 2 disks and save one, will I be able to install, register, etc... later on a new computer with the second disk? I'm old school and do SD cards, I put things on my machine, and backup on an external HD.... and I save the SD cards when full as if they are the "negatives"...
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks again for all the videos and what you do for the photography community! Keep shining bro!

Hey Tony - would love to buy your ebook but sdp.io has it at $29.99 instead of $10 as it says on the screen behind you.

Also, is your Classic CC book any different than your orginal book? Does one really need a new book if you already use LR all the time?
