Onewheel: Finding a Good Stance

Показать описание
Riding Onewheel is all about weight distribution, so it's essential to make sure you're in a good stance.
The first step is figuring out if you are regular or goofy. Regular rider ride with their left foot forward, while goofy rider ride with their right foot forward. If you're not sure what's natural to you, imagine sliding in socks on a wood floor. Which foot would you have in front? That's probably the foot you want to ride with in front.
You'll want to place your back foot squarely on the back footpad which is resting on the ground. This is technically the back of the board (although Onewheels can actually ride equally in both directions). Next place your front foot on the front footpad, ensuring that both the ball of your foot and heel have solid contact with the pressure sensitive pads on either side of the blue line. It's important to keep your front foot firmly planted on the pressure sensitive pad while you ride.
It's worthwhile to take your time while getting into your stance. You control Onewheel with subtle shifts in your weight, so if your feet are oriented on the footpads too far towards the toe or heel side it will affect your riding experience. Find what works for you and rock it!
If you have any nuggets of stance wisdom, drop them in the comments below. Peace!
