Words cannot express how much of a disaster it would be if there's direct involvement. It's bad enough with the current situation, but I argue that getting the US (as an obligate NATO member) involved will make the situation much worse. For one, we have enough problems of our own with a dotard in charge, and there's the real risk of overextending.
