Now, third-party sellers on Amazon are stepping up to help, and repositioning their small businesses to survive the pandemic. CNBC talked to sellers who pivoted rapidly to supply healthcare providers and first responders with everything from masks and gowns from China to hand sanitizer made with leftover ingredients for toy putty.

One hope is that this pandemic will reinvigorate a trend of domesticating critical infrastructure and supply chains here in the U.S.. I think a good start would be the government stipulating that at least a portion of their healthcare spend be only on products made in the United States.🇺🇸 👨🏻‍⚕️

Companies aren't shifting to help the public and hospitals.... They are doing it because it's profitable.

Please talk about the racism in China and how they’re not letting foreigners use hospitals and restaurants all because the color of their skin this needs to be addressed and WHO will not address it

The Chinese factories care more about profit than the product quality. Most often, they cut corners to earn higher profit margin.

The only takeaway from this unnecessarily long video is that the US and other western countries really need to rethink the supply chain dependency at least for essential products.

The woman at 0:12 should realize that the PPE is useless when she touches her face.

Many like to pick questionable suppliers due to price, then complains when the quality is an issue. Typical.

Big Tech, Health Care, Financials used to be America’s most untrusted (or even hated) industries and targets for further regulation. Now they are at the core of addressing COVID-19’s medical, economic and societal challenges. Collectively, those three are 60% of the S&P 500.

It's sort of funny. In the US the phrase "National Security" is thrown around for any number of issues but it seems no one is talking national civil preparedness when using that phrase.

Mass storage of tens of millions of masks and protection equipment, Rapid development and production of tests along with prepared locations for mass casualties should be "National Security". Having ready to start labs and factories in strategic places all over the country placed in mothballs but ready to begin production in a few weeks could be the difference between living and dying if an outbreak of something both highly contagious but also deadly showed up.

In case of a virulent disease similar to smallpox showing up you could be forced to produce enough test kits to use on ten percent of your population in 3 months, could the US handle that? And remember you can't place these factories in countries with cheap labour, they'll want to keep protective equipment and test kits for their own populace in case of a global pandemic.

I work a few jobs. My main job is security. I have weekends off from. For extra hours I began working the test sites at hospitals on weekends. Thank God they don’t do the testing on weekends. Although, security is 24/7 while the testing is going on. They test weekdays. Been told this is going to last at least 6 months.

Every country should do like Japan and encourage their companies to produce locally or at least outside of China. The rest of the world cannot let China dictate like this anymore, it's a matter of national security.

Our nurses and doctors are number hero and should be one of the most important people’s and after this pandemic they should be awarded with anything they want...they fought for our freedom we should let them be our first priority to keep their lives meaningful and happy after this because they deserve it because they didn’t do this because it’s their work but because saving lives were their motivation to study for nurse and doctors😷🦇

I ordered 100 masks on eBay and AFTER I paid I got an email from eBay that said " this product is not available as the seller is suspect. If you do not receive your product you can file a claim." So I had to cancel my credit card, check my bank, order a new card. Beware of who you buy from!
