I have one story about the Kingfisher. I was playing someone using a Kingfisher. I don't remember the composition of the Stars exactly, I just remember the last two mechs on the field, my opponent's Kingfisher and my custom Marauder IIC. The bout technically ended in a draw. A few turns in, my star was still in mostly good shape and my opponent was down to a Kingfisher. Unfortunately, we were playing Zellbringen rules, or I probably would have won. However, one by one he tore the rest of my star apart, using the the heavy lasers and Gauss rifle Combo. When my Marauder finally faced the Fisher King, we pummeled each other until I finally got a head shot in with an ER PPC, that also sent me into the red on heat to cause the LRM ammo that was left (I should have dumped it the launcher was gone), to blow taking my mech with him.

People say this thing is under gunned, and at first certainly seems so with no large, punchy weapon. However, this thing seriously can surprise you. The folks over at Death from Above Wargaming reviewed this monster in their Battlytics series, and it was coming in at the top 5 in total damage. The reliability of those pulse lasers and its survivability can’t be understated, this thing absolutely shreds opponents as it just doesn’t die. Highly recommend going check it out!

The Kingfisher is an often overlooked 'mech but its a BLOODY good one, the Prime and the one with ER PPC's are obnixious because of the CT mounted weapons, and with a standard engine you have to rip the 'Mech to bits to kill the damn thing. Its not the most well armed but its got a nice, logical layout and choice of weapons for the most part and its a bugger to put down. Great vid as always Mr Frog!

90 tons of assault mech without an XL engine makes this one tough mech to take out. Sure you loose out on pod space, but Clan weapons really help close the gap.

I hadn't heard of the Kingfisher before, but a zombiemech which can accurately snipe you at 20 hexes even if it can barely stand up does sounds like fun!

The trend of "tough zombie with a scary CT energy weapon" seems to have been a possible inspiration for the Celestial omnimechs. Honestly, the Kingfisher DOES have a similar visual profile...

Damn, the Kingfisher C is a monster. Standard engine, lots of armor, no ammo, enough heat sinks that you can alpha strike every turn and only worry about movement heat. Somebody was in a foul mood when they made that configuration.

I'm convinced the MF designation in your builds stands not for Mechanical Frog, but the expletive enemy pilots call you as you bring (usually piping hot) death to their doorstep

The Kingfisher's C Config gives my inner energyboat addict a happy dance. I love its aesthetics as well. Can't go wrong with a solid Assault Omnimech with good flexibility and battle endurance.
