Today, I do a quick (and honest) demo/review of the Fujifilm X100F. This is the first Fujifilm digital camera that I've owned and it's quite an experience! How do I like it? How's the quality? How do I like the fixed lens? How does it compare to other cameras? I take a look!
Thanks for watching!

Cool video.

Don't forget the two most important aspects of this camera, it is a Leaf Shutter camera (not a Focal Plane like your other cameras) and it has a 3 stop ND Filter built in.

Giving you the opportunity to do true High Speed Sync with any speedlight or strobe (something that is characteristic of Medium Format cameras).

And yes you can do amazing high end portraiture with this camera with its 23mm lens (35mm full frame) and by adding the Televeconverter to change the focal length to 35mm (50mm full frame) or by using the two digital teleconverters the camera has to offer.

The leaf shutter will let you sync at any speed up to 1/4000 of a second at full power by following the T1 time of your speedlight or strobe.

This camera is not a toy or point and shoot, but one of the most amazing cameras ever designed.

I have been shooting Fujifilm cameras for about 4 years. Just got the X100F and it is as much fun as you mention. Old school FTW!

Glad someone else noticed a perk that I LOVE about Fujifilm, that you can pre-set your exposure before you even turn the camera on! You wouldn't think it would be that useful, but it really is. Rock on!

Been shooting mine for only a few days now but loving it. Shot Canon for about ten years but I've never had this much fun!

Just in case you did not see this yet, with Lightroom you can use the original Fuji Film Simulations on your RAW files. Just go to the camera calibration section in the develop module and choose one of the available profiles.

Great to hear your thoughts as someone new to this type of camera! How do you find yourself like the actual grip of the camera?

I switched to Fuji after years of shooting Pentax because of the original X100. I started on a K1000 35mm in highschool (with a set of 35mm/50mm/100mm primes), and moved to Pentax digital because I could use all of the legacy glass I had accumulated in the years following. After Hurricane Sandy wiped out all of my gear, I went cameraless for a few years. I happened to be near B&H one day (I live on the border of NY/NJ) and popped in. I was looking at Rebels and such, but really wanted something small that I could take anywhere. All the brand of choice) entry cameras were just getting huge. They had a used X100 and I fell in love with it once it was in my hands. The size, the manual dials...It. Just. Fit. I'm not saying it is the greatest camera for everyone, It's not the greatest camera for ANYONE! No camera is. It was a GREAT camera for MY needs. Of coarse I sold it not long after to fund an X100S(that I still own) because there were some shortcomings of the first generation(slow focusing, and horrid battery life). I'm full Fuji now, running two X-T1's(upgrading soon to X-T2's or an X-T2/X-T20 combo) and my little X100s is still almost always with me. I'm really just trying to justify upgrading to an X100f at this point, hence this video coming up in my suggestions. YOU ARE NOT HELPING!!!

The X100 series has soul! I loved my X100S and regret having sold it for the XT1...

Hey man, glad you're enjoying it! Try the Iridient X Transformer to demosaic the RAF files before opening in Lightroom, you won't be sorry... ;)

I literally winced when you said you switched the shutter speed to the front dial. Good thing you figured it out haha

And then you have the leaf shutter, which just blows the competition out of the water. To get anything similar you have to get anSony RX1, Richo GR or the Leica Q... beyond that you're going into medium format territory.

Great video.  Just wish Fuji would supply it with something other than a wide angle lens.

shutter speed to the front dial?
I have that on my xt-2 and would love to have it on my x100F too, how did you set that up?
thanks!

I think this has a leaf shutter which means you can sync the flash to a much higher speed.

I'm thinking about getting the X100s. Can anyone compare to quality of the two? Is it worth the extra money if I'm on a bit of a budget?
