Really wish they would have made Depression an optional add-on or something, but it seems like it's a bundled extra with almost everything these days.

I've actually played Depression™️ since childhood and still haven't beat it. But a few years back I unlocked the "therapy" and "medication" package, which definitely helped a lot with the progress.
I'm playing on a European server, so most DLC is actually free content, but I heard that in America it's all part of the battlepass.
Tbh, I don't think Depression™️ should be "pay to win".

I downloaded depression years ago, and I can confirm that it doesn't help at all with creativity. I'm convinced the people who claim it does, they downloaded an incomplete bootleg.

Hey depression developer here! Your complaints have been noticed, we at depression Inc will definetly put your tips on the todo list. Expect an update in about 4/5 years take it or leave it.

Yeah this section of the game is pretty frustrating and after the first few levels you actually really start to doubt that you can beat it, apparently if you just keep putting points into the “mental health” skill tree you start to see some results, I’m not completely sure yet but good luck everyone

I was caught in a cycle of playing Depression without really understanding why, until I talked with a dataminer and discovered it was actually part of the DLC package included with my mainstay title, ADHD. Luckily, they helped me get through the game with a few overpowered items and some great counseling. I'll likely always be stuck on the NG+ cycles as there's not exactly a clean road to beating the game, but while there are certainly a few bosses that kick my ass every so often, these new stats (leveling self-reflection and physical ability has been especially helpful), have made the road a lot smoother. 2/10, would not recommend. The performance issues are unjustifiable and the forced DLC package has been exceedingly disappointing. The 2 points are for introducing me to the rad community surrounding the game, struggle on folks.

Sadly I got depression permanently installed through my operating system.
It's been a while until I noticed it, I always wondered why I was so much more slower than what my Hardware should be able to run.
The amount of Data it consumes really is something. If I had a choice I would definitely get rid of it

"It somehow the most hollow experience I've ever had but also the most heavy." That was way more accurate than it needed to be.

Depression actually has a pretty robust ranked matchmaking system but the issue is at the higher levels people stop wanting to talk about their rank.

Haha so true. The constant struggle between wanting to die and being terrified of death makes me think the devs were too conflicted in their lore.

The "depression makes you more creative" saying is more likely false in terms of unipolar depressions. The saying might come from the episodes of hypomania in bipolar 2, which can make you more creative and inventive, also including the downside of the depressive episodes that comes before and after it

I’m literally watching this video instead of completing the simplest task of sitting up and drinking water. Honestly one of the harder levels I’ve been stuck on for a while

The art style of these videos is wonderful and charming

I've found the customer service rather lacking, too. After contacting my therapist for a refund, she told me to "take a hike" and charged me 60 USD extra.

Damn, wish I saw this review before picking depression up a few years ago. And I can't even get a refund

That part about memory is absolutely crazy... I was depressed ever since childhood and only in recent years made a clear recovery... and man, I can't understate how much more things I remember now... no seriously, it's like my brain just toggled a switch to allow me to unlock all my past memories basically. I couldn't remember what I had eaten yesterday, any kind of relevant information about my own life. Now I can easily just tell about everything that I've been through in excruciating detail... which sounds normal, but it's crazy that it's something your brain just loses when feeling a bit too sad for a bit too long.
Anyways... I think I should share a but about what helped be go through it all, because it feels like I should: Basically, video games saved my life. Yes, I'm just saying the way it is. Playing vide games, being able to solve problems and gaining skills, discovering some things about me and the world that I never suspected, fighting my inner thoughts... games allowed me to do that and if I'm here today it's mainly because of the people who spend hours upon hours crafting the best of the best pieces of art that can be. Games like The Legend of Zelda, Dark Souls, The Binding of Isaac, Team Fortress 2... even League Of Legends, were especially therapeutic to me. It's not "wasted time", okay? If your brain says it needs it and there's an improvement then ever so slight doing something, in place of another thing, then it's probably that deep down we actually prefer that time we spent playing and challenging ourselves... video games are a drug, yes, they can make someone addicted, yes, but just like actual drugs, a responsible use of them and playing the right games basically can prove extremely efficient and provide miraculous results in treating patiens with depression and other stuff like ADHD even.

I never really thought about the fact that I might have depression but hearing these symptoms and feeling connections to them makes me want to look into it

This is so heartwarming, as someone who also played through this terrible game seeing it being talked in such a lighthearted and silly way really make me feel nicer
