My prob is that right before the pins, its curves and I miss the pins. I am learning how to curve on purpose though and I have better results sometimes. Hooking I believe is what it’s called

Should I throw with the left hand? I'm right handed. Also what way do I hold the ball, the thumb isfacing the pins or not. My balls seem to get backwards spin all the time.

Your right there my friend, your form is good. All you need to do now is add fingers to get rotation. Right when you start to release it, make a fist !

Nice bowling, man! Even though so many people ‘in the know’ argue that hooking the ball is the ‘preferred’ release, not everyone can do that successfully or even consistently; moreover, human kinesthetics differ. I didn’t start bowling regularly until I was 29 years old and I myself started off with a straight-ish end-over-end release. While I did eventually learn how to hook the ball, I found such a release to be wildly inconsistent. Luckily, I was bowling with a friend yesterday and he happened to spot what exactly I was doing wrong (opening my torso too much, my timing was much too early, etc). Because of that feedback, I was able to make the appropriate corrections and found myself shooting a 147 in the final game of our 3 game series. Straight bowling for the win indeed! 😎🎳

It's so weird. I can hook a ball decently, I think, but I can't seem to set my feet right. I'm releasing the ball with my right leg planted down. Maybe it's because I've been watching a left-handed bowler to learn. idk.

Where should I be looking when going up to throw? I find that this is the hardest for me and always screws up my throw.

I havehad sessions where me and a friend will compete and go back and forth with strike after strilke. With no technique at all. Just figure out how to aim and it works lol. Just aim to hit the first pin sligjtly offset to the side and it is a strike pretty much all of the time. Mind you, people would point out my awkward and unorthpdox foot and body movements and then stop suggesting.
