I've been reading the novels again, Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike, and how a Flood takes over a body is horrifying and a true living hell. It's Alien Possession.

So just for anyone interested about the halo 3 infection with the marines Occasionally, if you watch the marine get infected, the flood will take control of his body and snap his neck during the process

There’s another animation where whoever is infected snaps their own neck 😂 I guess because they are either in that much pain? Or because the flood took over their system and kills them faster so it won’t have resistance?

I think i have seen a 2 second gif somewhere which consisted of a Halo 2 marine being infected by the flood similar to Halo 3's. I cant recall where it was from initially but it might have been from a Halo 2 Bungie vidoc.
