This really demonstrates the great relationship that Chief and Cortana have. Chief venturing into High Charity is like a modern retelling of the tale of Orpheus, with Chief practically descending into hell to save Cortana

This video makes me remember that Mendicant Bias interrogated the Primordial for *43 years* before becoming corrupted itself. And Cortana spent just over a month being interrogated by the Gravemind before nearly breaking.

In halo 5 when Cortana gave her speech to all the species, you can hear the gravemind in her voice.

The one piece from this that stood out to me is that Cortana basically experienced the pain of a sentient organism being infected by the flood, all with keeping her sentience.
So imagine if Private Jenkins had kept on surviving, and was continuously pushed through the war.

It’s no wonder she snapped in Halo 5.
