I am a government employee from Bihar and have been in service for the last 10 years. Whenever there is an election, my duty is to commission EVMs. I have done commissioning work in two assembly elections and three Lok Sabha elections. The simple meaning of EVM commissioning is to remove the data in the control unit of EVM before the election and empty the data and seal it completely so that no one can tamper with it. Put a slip with the name of the candidates along with the symbol in the ballot unit. I want to say one thing with complete honesty that any person who says that EVM can be hacked, he can tamper with the data with OTP, that person is fooling both himself and the public and he does not believe in the democratic system of India. Thank you.

I am also a software engineer. Any machine can be hacked, even a calculator. Everything depends on the programmable chip. Since I don't know the code of the EVM, I can't hack it. Tell the Election Commission to make the code open source. Then ask all engineers to find bugs in the code and offer rewards for each bug found. You'll see how many bugs are discovered.

Currently, only the people who wrote the code for the EVM chip know how many bugs it has.

Let me explain another way. If a computer is not connected to any network and has Bluetooth blocked, does that mean it can't be hacked? It can still be manipulated using various techniques like viruses or Trojan horses.
