There are some like these in the us. No one ever notices them and they are typically installed near or in buildings that will probably need them.

Also what's the furthest ammount of yards you've seen a hydrant plate be placed away from the hydrant it's self.

Jdogs and myself have seen one 30 yards away and have been curious if this is the record. Seen In Edinburgh.

Why does the handle for the hydrant key have a tapered/ narrow end? Asking for Jdog.

2"...maybe a 2 1/2" line is all?? Strange to see this type of set up. This video is not showing the difficulty access it in normal calls. You -Tube does show a fire where they had to remove the cover, then dig and dig and dig - until he was able too thread on the pipe onto what i guess is a hook up place there on the main itself!!

It also protects them from being vandalis but cant say the same for our dry risers

US fire hydrants don't need flushing. Maybe you should learn from this. Imagine a huge fire and the firefighter has to do this? 🤣
