Carplay on a Android device is a dream for those who have an iPhone and an Android headunit

I live in a country where we don't use any Assistant, internet problems, but when I'm abroad I see how many people are enjoying this new way of carry on with their life in this way and I'm glad to be alive while it's just happening.

By jailbreaking the iPhone you could run any app on CarPlay, even Netflix :)

I was SO hoping this would work. The glaring problem with this solution is that the tablet cannot be charged while connected to the carplay dongle. I'd like to be proven wrong though! If anyone knows of ANY tablet that supports charging while connected to a dongle (via a USB Y adapter for example), please share if you have direct experience.

ive done this as well with my old galaxy tab s so now I have a 10.5" Oled CarPlay lol. biggest issue, my tablet can't charge and use the dongle at the same time so I have to charge the tablet every night indoors

My GF has a Homepad, but she usually changes it for a tampon when she goes out.

I have used this for few years in my cars the first unit was Xbox dongle no longer . I have the new one you have now. On a 10.2 inch android system in BMW X5 and the I drive still works, quite cool. Thanks John. Good content

so how do you charge the android tablet? do you take out the dongle and charge it? or can you do a pass through like usb to usb through the dongle to the tablet to charge while using the wireless apple carplay?

Remember when you’d buy an iMac and it would come with a remote that would bring up a media centre. I imagine a homepad would be an evolution of that.

I find it hard to understand why Apple hasn't been working a lot harder to make Siri the cutting edge personal assistant and why they have let it lag behind Google's assistant.
