All it took was a simple shift switch to change a young mother's life forever. Nancy was supposed to work the night shift, but she had plans, so she switched shifts to the morning. She was all alone opening a local Pizza Hut restaurant when she went completely silent; no one could reach her, which wasn't like Nancy. When someone went to check on her they walked in on absolute horror.

The very moment that you said Det. Polanco never let his cases stay open and would do anything he has to to close a case, I just knew he was a shady cop. It shouldn't be the goal to close a case no matter what. It should be a goal to prosecute the correct suspect, go through all of the evidence with a fine tooth comb, interview everyone and let the clues lead you to the suspect.

I am from Austin and I was a HS senior @ LBJ. This case was on the local news for weeks . Now I’m sad for the 2 men. They didn’t deserve this. This is why it’s important to know you rights .

Nancy's death was tragic and senseless. But this case also makes me so sad for Richard. He was truly an innocent party and just as much a victim. He had no part in the story whatsoever; never falsely accused anyone or did anything at all but toast her, yet, his entire life was ruined at such a young age, at no fault of his own. He suffered his whole life, from that day forward. 💔

I worked for a police department many years ago in the late '70s to early '80s. There have always been good/great cops and bad/evil cops. Body cameras and cameras in interrogation rooms have stopped much of the abuse and have kept people accountable for their actions. Of extreme importance is that anyone being questioned has an attorney present. If at all possible, pay for an attorney yourself as opposed to having one appointed for you.

Pizza Hut in the 80’s was the place to be! After football games everyone met up there. Good memories! Also the drive in, sneaking people in the trunk & then getting in the back of a friends truck with those foldable lounge chairs. We’d have pillows, blankets & tons of food. Man I miss those days!

I miss how pizza hut use to be.. they use to have a buffet and the red cups oh and the personal pan pizzas we got for free as some of the rewards for the summer reading club through the library. Them were the days😊
