You know what's wild? The egg that's in the egg McMuffin is probably one of the most real foods at McDonalds. I worked there as a teenager and was stunned that we actually cracked eggs onto the grill to make it.

As someone from England, I can confirm that we do actually call them 'English' muffins a lot of the time. American muffins are arguably as common in the UK now, so it would cause too much confusion.
