I'm new to your channel and I like your style and honesty, and while I agree mostly with what you say in this video, I'm a little perplexed how you describe the projects you discuss as "side projects". You seem to be discussing work you have arranged with a client and then, perhaps, you've added some additional value? Am I missing something? To me a "side project" is something you do to help showcase your work (I'm thinking portfolio for an artist or house designer) and is driven from a general need (and not driven by a client requirement, I mean how would you have a client requirement if you don't have a client?!). In the video you look at client pain points, but how do I know what they are unless I already do work for them?! So, as you can tell I'm confused. Apologies if I've missed something. Great work, enjoying all your videos.

But how do you find problems that even businesses are not aware of ( like in your case )?

is there a platform where one could find projects to volunteer to?
in my past i was able to solve many problems by developing software - but i have no idea, where to find problems outside my company.
Additionally, I have a mind-set-problem: I don't understand why a software-developer is hired after all, because when there is a need for software, i just create it.
