Another Idea that I have, but I'm not advanced enough to implement : A benchmarking site that showcase Java vs Other languages like Golang, C# and other languages in terms of Syntax and runtime efficiency as a quick way to demonstrate to businesses that still use Java, that converting to another language might be the smart move.

I learn my rewriting my existing code in the new language. Started with 4 player Mahjong in objective c. Then learnt c# for Unity by rewriting the code in C# with a 3D UI. Now learning Golang by rewriting the server side, so Unity players can use it for match making and multiplayer play. It means I already know the code Im starting with has been tested. It speeds up learning, in that I don't have to create new algorithms for AI players or test the scoring functions too much. Or I might just ditch Unity and use an Angular front end. But I have VR play in the Unity version which is fun.

Hmm. It depends, Clement. Let's not forget that we are in a recession and it is harder to find a job. From what I saw in other CVs, it is better for the project to fit the tools and the field of the job. The projects you suggested are good for beginners/curious people who want to work on smth new, but you should take also other things into consideration other than the 'coolness'.
