#Florida Governor Ron #DeSantis said the state avoided a “worst-case scenario" from #Hurricane #Milton even as it contends with major storm damage and widespread power outages.

As much as 18 inches of rain fell in Hillsborough County and Pinellas County in the #Tampa Bay area, DeSantis told reporters Thursday. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, with more than 42 rescues reported so far. In one instance, 21 people were rescued from an apartment building.

I'm Kenyan and despite the sharp differences j have with some of the policies of the United States, this country is largely our friend and I sympathise with all those who are affected by the storm. I pray that God protects all of you, your property and even the animals. May God grant your govt wisdom to protect and provide for those affected.
