Often, I need to work with more than one track, and nearly as often, I discover I need to add that additional track sometime after I have started my project - maybe I am adding some additional sound effects or whatever. Almost as easy as dragging and dropping is to go to "File/Import/Audio..." and navigate to where the additional clip is located and click Open. This method comes in handy when the clips are not conveniently located for dragging and dropping.

Hi is there a way to move tracks up and down by a simple drag? Like let's say I recorded five tracks and I would like to create a new blank one underneath the first track that I already recorded. Is there a way to add a new track underneath a track that was already previously done? I know that you can add a new track and it'll go to the bottom of the tracks and there's the option to move track up or down. But is there an easier way of doing that?

Lets say i have a file with 20 tracks. How do I inserts a track in, lets say in the middle of the tracks instead of all the way at the bottom. My problem is that sometimes I like to add music and if I add a new track at the bottom I can't sync it with the audio all the way at the top.

Hi, thanks for the tips, i am in 3.1.3 now wich have no sliding tool. but a hand to grab the top of the track in order to move it.. so better to update if you want your info to be accurate.. thks.. NOW..my question is.. How many track can we had in Audacity.. let say i want to record a track with many farm animal sound...for a kid video.. while the first one is easy, the second one will be added but overlap at the same time.. then i had a third and a forth that i also slitly overlapse.. then.. it seem not adding any more track to add more animal sound.. what happen ?Is it limited to 4 different track only ?
