On July 20th 2014 Portland State Aerospace Society launched their "LV2.3" rocket with advanced flight computer.
We had an umbilical cable that allowed control of the rocket right up to the last second before liftoff (so we could monitor and abort the launch).
Students designed and built a 3D printed automatic disconnect system for our umbilical cable, seen here in slow motion from a ground camera during the launch.
