Hear from police after suspected Michigan State University shooter is dead

Police say the suspect they were looking for in a deadly mass shooting on the campus of Michigan State University is dead. Police provided the update and said he was located outside of the MSU campus and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

I listened to the this event live on the police scanner.
The dispatcher did the best job I've ever heard of managing radio traffic and directing officers in a chaotic situation.
It seemed to me that there was shooting being reported in several different locations simultaneously, or nearly so.
Two individuals were sighted by numerous citizens and said to be carrying "long guns". One of these individuals was said to be limping; this description came in several times.
A vehicle, which was described, was alleged to be involved, along with a location and direction of travel, and was being sought by officers.
I never heard an office report hearing gunfure or seeing a suspect while I was monitoring.
As to the shooter; all of the radio traffic that I heard referred to "they".

I grew up going to MSU campus ... East Lansing has always been a safe place for our kids, police have been proactive to avoid problems
Stupid people doing stupid stuff seems to be the way the world is going
Its not about gun control its about controling self entitled people & their hurt feelings

The problem is at the core of families . I am not blaming anyone, but we need to take a close look at ourselves and how we raise our children and how us adults drifted from norms. My take is that we are drifting apart physically, there is no human connection any more, we resorted to connecting via “ social” media which lacks the basic human need for seeing and socializing. My prayers go the lost lives and my best wishes to the injured physically and mentally.

134 mass shootings in the U.S. have been males… I wish there weren’t any. I have three children in school, but this definitely needs some looking into this is sad AF my heart and prayers go out to all that had to be a witness to this experience. Peace to all of you. 💫❤️💫🌹🌹🌹

With all things considered, damn, shout out to Lansing local community govt. Now this is a town that can feel good about how their local authorities respond & work together. It’s even quite apparent in their police captain or spokesman, whoever that is. It’s nice to see smooth & detailed info as well as discussing the details of what happened w/o sounding shady. At same time showing appropriate sympathy. Quite refreshing from our federal authority at the highest levels. They could take a page from this towns functioning & apply it to their severe dysfunction right now. Respect 🫡

Something isn't adding up. I can't find any videos. Where's police body cam video? They said he was approached by officers in reports, and then he shot himself. Is there body cam footage.

Why is there no arm security allowed on campus. Why are schools gun free when court rooms, police stations, security detail for politicians not gun free?

Vp of safety? What preventative action plan does Michigan state police and public safety have? Im shocked with everything happening on planet that during orientation no training is provided. Go lay in a field is the protocol and complete chaos? Do better. And dont tell me this is a gun control issue.
