Hey there! I mod the r/OlaEnglund subreddit, so I have some helpful info here. At 3:49, you say that Solar has 6 new guitars this year. They actually have released 22 guitars in 2021! Their "new" flag on a new guitar doesn't stick around too long, but the folks at solar are grinding shit out CONSTANTLY. I love it.

"Duncan Designed" are made overseas, to mimic Duncan originals. The "1s" have: SS frets; locking tuners; luminglo side fret markers; and, better FRs or Evertune.

Living in a small town deep in Appalachia solar guitars are like unicorns! LoL you hear about them online but have never had the privilege of seeing one, little on playing one!! Given the current state of things my industry took a hard hit with COVID and the war on coal really took the wind out my sails on my venture to affording one for myself! So I live vicariously through good dudes like you and content like this! This being said I appreciate the content you and ola both produce because it’s as close as I’ll ever get to playing these and other bad ass metal machines!! I own a brand new 2021 Solar 1.6 BLB evertune and it is an awesome guitar. The Solar Duncans are great and the Evertune bridge is the best bridge ive ever played in 30 years!! The pickups are made by seymour duncan specifically for Solar. Btw the pre 2020 models come with dot inlays.

They are Duncan pickups to solar. The bridge is a tweaked custom 5 and the neck is a tweaked 59. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

I have 5 Solar guitars. 2 S1.6 (S1.6 FRBLB neck through, S1.6 FRQOB) with Floyd Rose, the A1.6 FRC, the E1.6 FBB and the one you like - the GC1.6 T-FAB.
The GC has 2 pull/push which allows parallel/serial combos on both humbuckers and man i love playing that in the middle pos and the neck p/up "pulled". From memory you hav 8 different combos on that one.

The E1.6 FBB has a single pull/push on the tone knob and that also gives you great options. That is one awesome playing guitar and like the name says - Evertune - never goes out of tune even with weather changes.

I'm not a metal player - more like blues/rock and cleans too and the Solars sound great for performing in those genres. I also have a limited edition Ibanez Pia in sun dew gold, a Strat (currently in storage).

The S1.6 FRQOB is no longer available but there is an A1.6 equiv. Funnily enough i always end up playing the S1.6 FRQOB the most, even with its gloss neck ! First world probs 🤣 my countrymember.com web site has a photo of them.

I have a 1.6efbb. Amazing guitar. Havent touched my other guitars at all. Only gripe is it has a single crack in the fretboard, but a little bit expected with ebony. Had to get use to the evertune. Was a little bit of a learning curve, and took a while to enjoy. I dont think ive fallen madly in love with it and require it on all future guitars though.

Solar has been releasing new models nearly every friday. I highly recommend making it a weekly habit to check their website to see if they have anything new.

I agree with you about that single cut with gold hardware, such a classy, but modern looking guitar

I'm right there with you Ray, when you say that: Solar Guitars are the masters at what they offer the Metal guitarists!!
For one I wouldn't trade my A1.6 Artist Series BOP swamp-ash guitar for anything out there as far as value for what you're getting!!🤘🤘 For me it's kinda like a Schecter guitar on steroids, for 1/4 what you might pay for ANYTHING out there! My Solar shipped from: (1st Indonesia) then on form Spain where they get a little "face-time" with the co-creator & then on to me in the U.S.
I can't say enough good things about the "EverTune" bridge, the locking tuner heads, etc....(it came all the way from Spain with a standard D turning, & with just a few short tweaks to get it in the; "Sweet-Spot" was basically play right out of the case!!) Which I wanted it sent in, just because I don't like the "gig-bags" idk how they travel in those, but I imagine they are packed with care...I've never heard a bad review of ANY Solar guitars!
I could go on....but I won't!!

My A2.7 TBRM still rips after 2-3 years of having it. I also love the 2.0 series better than the 1.0, I don't know why but it's just my preference. I definitely want to get another guitar from them soon this time a 6 string. Sick video bro
