Thanks for the Video. Holy Moly all that amazing Gear 😳 I do have a question about your Sidechain technique you showed us with your Massive Passive and the Dangerous Compressor. So, you talked about how much you love the sound of the Massivo…but a bit later you told us that your 500 Series Rack‘s Output is hitting the Dangerous Compressor Input very hard. Then you talked about boosting the Bands of your Massive Passive extremely hard. That means that the Massive Passive was just for the purpose of eq‘ing into the Sidechain ..? (with a Split Signal?) I wonder because ..if so you wouldn’t hear any direct Sound from the Manley right 💁🏻‍♂️ ? or did you Monitor the Sidechain Input while boosting? Sorry I am confused 😕

Most of serious mastering facilities we use the signal unbalance balance most for mixing and recording, but still not plug ins to replace a germanium analog sound or optical compressor in the Eq and limiter field are some good algorithms plugins but can be more precise but not provide the texture of the analog gear, good luck in your new journey when the spirit call, not way to be denial nice informative video for those need some gear

I’d sure like to see a video where you use that gear on a project. It sounds like you really know what you’re doing!
It looks cool separated by the little pillars, but man I’d be really nervous about having close to 30k worth of gear stacked in a tower that could fall.. cus I know that I’d get drunk one night & start appreciating the way the gear looks all lit up & bring down the tower.
I have heritage audio mcm MkI. It’s apparently a line mixer, not an actual analog summing unit, according to dangerous audio anyway. Anyway, I dig mine. I use the aux in & out for the transformer at the end of the line mixer, run everything that I can through it for warmth.

Are you using Fab Filter Plugs in your mastering chain now or something better?
I tend to use Pro L and Slate mastering plug and try to get my mixes right so i can keep the master simple.
I have to go deeper with things I didn’t mix

great review and details about your gear. what are you using as your mid/side encoder? I guess I must have missed that part. also, have you noticed that the headroom is significantly lower when using the unbalanced outs on your massive passive? I picked up an MP earlier this year and i've been using the unbalanced outputs (which bypasses the transformers) pretty frequently on projects---its a whole other world indeed. but i definitely can't push the MP as hard when using the unbalanced outs.

Wonderful video and beautiful gear. Can the 8 channels of summing in the Heritage Audio MCM-8 ii be used completely separately from the 500 series units? I want to sum my 8track reel to reel but want my 500 units separate, they just need a power supply. Just wondering how to routing works, whether I can use the 500 series ins and outs in my patchbay outside of the final stereo out on the mcm-8. Your insight would be really appreciated!

If you make a mediocre song and master with this equipment than make a good song and master in any daw which one would sound better do you think? Or...if I master the same song with this equipment and with any daw would anybody notice the difference?
