As a black man, it is so embarrassing when black actors pander and take on jobs they are not good for. I get it, acting is tough, a job is a job and being apart of a big IP can make your career. They tried to do better than Tolkien and failed miserably because of their pride and incompetency. It's ironic because that's pretty much the story of the main villains of his works: Melkor, Sauron, and Saruman. They thought they could do better than Eru but all they could do was twist and pervert creation and in the end helped to bring about their own downfall.

I think it's kind of amazing what Rings of Power was able to accomplish. Through the most expensive fan-fiction ever made they managed to turn Sauron into a hero and Galadriel into a villainous psychopath. Stunning and brave.

Honestly, I found it kind of cute in a funny way that the producers and show runners naively thought that they could try to silence a 70 year old fan base and think that they could get away with it. 😂😂😂
How wrong they were. The Tolkien fan base is not one to be messed with, families grew up with this franchise, books and movies. The stories are so special for so many people, from all nationalities and walks of life. That’s what’s beautiful and unifying about Tolkien and his stories.
