At that price range the price has nothing to do with the quality but rather is a way of making rich people “feel” special. In fact you will be less blown away the more expensive a fragrance gets because cost influences perception in both the positive and negative.

Really classy Chris. Glad you are respectful of store employees even though you may know a bit more and may not agree with the prices. After about the $1000 or $1500 mark, the law of diminishing returns really kicks in to the point that you have a hard time justifying the price tag.

I know that Lalique used to make some fragrances that were a couple thousand, but it was almost certainly due to the crystal used for the bottle and had nothing to do with the juice. Some Lalique sculptures can go for tens of thousands.

Paying that price for a fragrance just can't ever be worth it. I don't see how. Unless you're buying a piece of history and you're an art collector, something like a perfectly preserved bottle of something rare from 100 years ago, that price point just doesn't make sense.

Nice! The Henry Jacques is an undiluted oil though, it would be more comparable to a 100-125 mL spray. I have small amounts of a dozen or so HJ oils, they are something special, especially the oud perfumes.
