I love seeing old traditions like this still exsisting. I just wish it was more popular and made more money - that workers made better money. This needs to become more popular and more widely known about - because it is worth it and supporting such an old tradition is worth it. Thigns like this need to be preserved.

Gandhshastra that is science of Perfumery is found in India long before Mughal invasion.
Gandasara, a Sanskrit text from 12th century has methods to make different scents.
And Mughals invaded India in 16 century.

I find it disgusting how the owner is in nice clothes, and looks like he makes good money from his attars, yet his employees are woking in such horrid conditions and their clothes are all dirty, no shoes, and obviously poor. If you're not going to increase pay, at least give these humans a better, cleaner working environment.

I own the "mitti" attar and it smells just like that.

I still use attar. Believe me or not I used those western perfumes. They are costly and sometimes pure synthetic.

Attar is pure natural and the perfume smells awesome. Western perfumes are based on alcohol, other side attar based on oil. Longest lasting perfume ever.

Incorporating the most basic of modern technology would make this process much more consistent and so much easier on the workers. Leave it to India to still be working with Stone Age equipment.
