What Astronauts Revealed About Bumped from Dragon to Rescue Starliner Humiliated Boeing...
Hate to watch you leave without me.
Well, it's not the quote of any romantic movie, it's exactly the feeling of two grounded astronauts who were forced to give up their seats for the stranded Star liner crew.
This is obviously not unfathomable for astronauts who love space exploration more than anyone else.
However, it must be a bitter pill to swallow when we admit that things would have been different if Nasa had been more cautious in deciding whether the Boeing Star liner would take off that June.
So, how disappointed were those astronauts?
How did NASA and the two astronauts trapped on the ISS react to this incident?
Find out everything in today's Techmap episode.
But before we begin, let's subscribe to the channel to stay up-to-date with the latest space news.
What Astronauts Revealed About Bumped from Dragon to Rescue Starliner Humiliated Boeing...
"there F that back at home we all have a lot of work to do but from here bir s looks like a perfect world".
It's hard to hold back these words when you take your first glimpse outside the spacecraft under a historical mission namely Polaris Dawn. This is not the first time Billionaire Jared Isaacman has gone into space but this is the first time he goes out of the capsule and directly sees our planet from space.
Not only amateur astronauts like Isaacman but also professional astronauts go through such intense emotions during their first time in space. Seeing our home against the blackness of space is a profound experience that leads to a greater appreciation for Earth and its apparent fragility, and a deep connection to humanity as a whole. Author and space philosopher Frank White calls this the Overview Effect.
NASA astronaut Zena Cardman could have taken a chance to experience the Overview Effect this year if she had not been bumped from the Crew 9 mission.

Alongside Cardman, Stephanie Wilson was also intending to get a lift to the International Space Station on board a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft on September 28. But thanks to Boeing's disastrous crewed test flight of its issues-laden Star liner spacecraft, the two women had to stay behind to make space for their stranded colleagues, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams. The duo have been stuck on board the ISS since June and had to wave their Star liner ride goodbye as it made its reentry without them in September.

Dragon 9 will take two stranded astronauts home eventually. Boeing should be billed for the ride.

Meanwhile FAA is busy nitpicking on SpaceX.
You have to slowdown your best runner

Can you imagine what the cost would have really been for NASA if Boeing had been given a cost plus contract as opposed to the fixed price contract they got?

not the1st time . a few astronauts who were slated to fly on planned Starliner missions but due to the Starliner delays have been transferred to the Dragon crew program

NASA got very lucky rolling the dice putting 2 astronauts lives on the table & in a “not ready for prime time” capsule.

It’s okay! The FAA loves Boeing! The FAA totally failed their duty with Boeing with catastrophic results! The FAA is still not doing their job! They’re blessing USL now! Having an exhaust come falling off in flight! I don’t feel safe writ the FAA in control!

Sending it back without a crew WAS the correct response...and it shouldn't have taken so long to make it. Sending it up in the first place??? That was a huge mistake.

If these are true professional astronauts, the setback is temporary and the need to rescue the others is top priority. Any thought about being bumped is something that has to be sone and they know that this could happen since the Starliner got stuck. No negative feedback should be public mentioned. Professionals keep things in check to get the big job done. You sacrifice for the team.

Time to replace all management of NASA FAA

I remember that the Crew Dragon was designed two riders, but NASA or FAA only wanted it to be certified for 4. Short sighted!

Crew Dragon was designed for seven astronauts. The NASA folks changed that to four. However, seven seats are what the capsule was built for so why not use them for extra passengers?

I feel sorry for any astronauts in the future being forced to fly with the Boeing Starliner

Boeing… making a heck of a mess in the atmosphere as well as above it!

Total shame these 2 women lost their shot because of boeing. Hope they get the next seats. I'd be extremely negative being split from my team. Send them in a mission with just them and some supplies.

Are astronauts really making a public issue for being bumped from a rescue mission? Over the decades, there were examples of swapping in the backup crew and grounding astronauts for medical or operational needs. She was being unprofessional in her public breakdown.
