I worked on this film. Tons of under paid over worked vfx artists in countries like India worked many months to give you that wonderful world. Vfx has a hugely labour exploitative industry and planning the shoot before production and having proper post production budget and time greatly helps work conditions stay humane at the end of the pipeline. There is a way Garreth’s approach can be adopted for future films and I hope it doesn’t inspire studios to take a cavalier approach to shooting everything wildly and then expecting things to get fixed in post.

If you remove the vfx, the movie would have been terrible. They tried to hit too many tropes and it came off inconsistent. Vfx hard carry

It also helps to show that the robots really aren’t all that different from humans. They don’t force the actors to act differently or move differently just because they’re robots, they all still have very fluid and realistic movements, it bridges the gap between man and machine in a really humanising manner
