I'm not sure the reason was for my Vbox Win 10 to all of a sudden become painfully slow, but it did. I tried many things: a restart of VBOX and my host Mac. I also played around with the same settings you suggested BEFORE I WATCHED your video but didn't get anywhere. However, I followed your tutorial to the letter, but applying it to my Mac and VOILA it worked!!!! Thank You so much!

I have 8G of ram in mac and lowered from 4.5G to 3.5G of ram and it runs 1000% faster. Great Video :)

Thanks for the tips. Actually reducing the allocated memory made the performance way better. I assumed by allocating 4 MB Ram, will help but actually didn't. It worked better on 2 MB.

Great video..useful tips..my ubuntu on windows 10 with a 4-core CPU was CRAWLING. Made me think that the VirtualBox or windows configuration was wrong because it was so slow.. 2-3 minutes for even a click to show any effect.
But with these tips..it speeded up considerably.

Nice video, thanks. I wonder why the first startup of Virtual-box is snappy and loading (installing) a first guest OS is snappy also. After that i noticed that even without clicking a guest OS from the menu but before executing when i start Virtual-box it takes way longer to popup the VM host program. Something is changing in the host OS that blocks speedy execution of Virtual-box. My CPU stays at 1-2% and it is doing nothing for a minute or two. Then it starts loading the VM. Ridiculous slow. I remember times when it would all start in less then 5 seconds. Why can't i instruct my host OS to go full throttle on executing Virtual-box (5.2) and again go full throttle when clicking a guest OS. All the variables are set and i got plenty of ram. Really suspicious and i suspect faul play by RPC services on the host OS. BTW. why is audio still an issue with guest OS's ? Did anyone ever think (freeware) about why that is? I now run the new Edge browser in a Windows 8.1 VM inside XP, yes i run W8.1 virtualization on XP. The edge browser also available to be installed on Windows 8.1 is snappy and uses full 3D acceleration. I can run FHD youtube with it. Imagine that, what if someone figures out how to create a tiny VHD with only a modern edge browser for use in late XP. Now we can.

So I have windows 7 and I created VM with windows xp 32 bit. I too had a lag and did everything in this video.
---What I did to fix it wa, * lowering RESOLUTION on Main-desktop*.
Turns out I was running way too high resolution on my desktop.

My case is that the windows home portion is fine, I only installed VirtualBox to play a CD-ROM on a Windows XP virtual machine, and no matter what options I fiddle with both inside and outside VirtualBox, it always runs at 10-20 fps. Please tell me someone has figured out some sort of fix for this specifically, I've been trying to get this game to run for about 4 years now trying it every few months and finally a recent VirtualBox update allowed me to launch the game without crashing, and now its just a struggle to figure out how to stabilize the fps for a smoother experience.

The last tip makes sense, I no longer use VMWare as my virtual machine is so slow using it. The cursor lags. Now I'm using VirtualBox & pretty happy with it.

Hello respected sir. ☺☺☺

I have 8gb ram, 240gb ssd and intel core i5 10400 processor. Yesterday, I was installing win 7 in virtualbox. I have allocated 2gb of ram and 31 gb storage for virtual machine. When I started my machine, I discovered that it is very slow. Very slow startup, very slow restarting and very slow shut down and my mouse pointer is very lagging in that machine. It was taking too much time to install my win 7 into virtual machine.

What to do sir? Please reply me.🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
