I’m not sure why, but I didn’t try getting in while the car door was open in GTA SA. Something very interesting happens.

in GTA SA, You can get into a car while on fire on the PS2 version, the vehicle will quickly catch fire and BOOM!

Another extra info in San Andreas : if you left the car door open and entered when CJ got burning, the car automatically catches the fire and explodes shortly after (unsure if other GTA games have the same feature as the SA one)

Actually, in Gta Sa, if you manage to enter a car while on fire, the car will catch on fire too, but not the "flamethrower fire" it catches in the "car damaged fire"
