The mad rush to introduce EVs has been like jumping out of an airplane at 30, 000 ft and saying you'll invent the parachute on the way down. It's not going to end well. It's exactly the same over here in the UK.

Sounds like it's time to get rid of our current government.

The Federal government does not want car and house ownership. Americans demand your freedoms, this is unethical

Re: 25 year retirement of vehicles. Yeah, great plan. I have a 20+ year old fleet at home BECAUSE they are reliable, easy to repair and I know I can count on them for the next 20 years. But no, people who don't drive themselves, get handsomely paid for a part-time job and don't have to pay for anything themselves, will mandate that I get rid of MY vehicles and pay a premium price for a vehicle that functionally won't last more than 10 years. It's bad enough when consumerism has run amok, it's a true catastrophe when it's mandated.

Why should the Federal Government spend $7.5 billion to create charging stations? Don't you think that all the existing gas stations would start to put in EV charging stations if say the sale of gasoline has dropped 40% and they can make up the loss of revenue with EV charging. How about you let the market determine how fast the EV market moves rather than trying to force EVs on everyone!

I am 100% anti EV, and my stance is based on the limited resources to manufacture the needed batteries to replace ICE vehicles. Internal Combustion Engine.

When EV lovers realize the costs to replace the battery outside of warranty just may get their attention.

One of the challenges that car manufacturers have had for decades in the USA is the Corporate Average Fuel Economy rules. The CAFE requires car manufacturers to have an average gas mileage across all of their car sales, but very few people actually want cars that get great fuel economy because they’re small, uncomfortable, and slow. So car manufacturers have been selling cars like the Nissan Versa and the Ford Fiesta that get great gas mileage at a loss for decades. That’s why there have been cheap cars, the car manufacturers were forced to sell them at a loss by the USA federal government.

My guess is that’s why Ford is only selling trucks and the Mustang. Trucks have different CAFE requirements than cars do so Ford has dumped all of the cars in order to stop selling cars at a loss.

Absolutely no EV purchase for me, period. I may consider a hybrid if I've exhausted all internal combustion engines are unavailable.

As a senior that’s owned over 40 vehicles in my lifetime, our Tesla Model 3 is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. The misinformation and stupidity of the comments on here is truly astounding.

I bought a 2016 Jaguar F-Type 3.0S manual transmission coupe this past May on the news that 2024 would be the last for Jaguar ICE cars. It's a lovely car, plenty of power for me and the manual transmission, while perhaps slower than the auto, works for me on the twisty two lane roads of New Hampshire where I live. Driving is not all about 0-60 times.

The speed limiter device is also being proposed.
