Year 10 girl Megan is very strong academically but her anger outbursts are a let-down for her, resulting in her having several run-ins with staff and fellow students. Deputy Head Mr Norman becomes very concerned when Megan punches a wall and injures her hand. He has several chats with Megan in an effort to try and get to the bottom of her anger problems. Fellow year 10 Katie is regularly in trouble, especially with her head of house, Mr Hennessy, whom she has a strained relationship with. She is regularly thrown out of lessons for disruption, resulting in Mr Hennessy calling her Mum into school. In an effort to turn her behaviour around, Music teacher Mr Ritter encourages her to perform a solo as part of her coursework for Performing Arts

Notice when Katie’s mum said “I don’t know where she gets her attitude from” and the teacher said “you don’t?” He was clearly implying that that her mum has an attitude too. Went right over her head. When she said Katie was embarrassing I thought that was awful

I relate to Katie. When I was a teenager, I used to have a lot of emotional outbursts at school. I had severe depression and anxiety, and teachers did not have the patience to deal with it or even understand it. I hope she is doing okay now.

I don't like the way they've dealt with Katie. Even from the small clips we've seen of Katie it's clear she needs more help than just "Get your attitude together." She's clearly stressed and doesn't understand half the time why she's being told off. They're not helping her understand what's going on and giving her any other outlets for her frustration apart from the bad attitude and misbehaviour. The school is and should be able to provide counselors and out of school help for her so she gets the attention she very much deserves and needs.

21:34 exactly what i was thinking. The way her mother blames her is so annoying, saying that she "didn't bring her up like this because I told her not to be that way". That's not how it works. You can't just tell someone to do something, actions speak louder than words. Her parents need to emulate the behaviour they want to see in her and them being separate does not help with that.

i was a student similar to katie, and was allways told off by teachers and in the end it was that i had undiagnosed adhd lecturing and yelling at students who misbehave doesnt help all it does is releaves teachers stress

the way they treated katie was horrible, especially after all the stuff she deals with at home.

It’s mental cuz when you watch these kids who clearly get severely under stimulated and punished more than encouraged and have their parents calling them embarrassments for being normal teenagers… is it any wonder why these kids ain’t happy 😊

At least they let katie go home if she'd like. At my school even if you are screaming, having panic attacks non stop or just like MEGA upset, they won't send you home because they don't really care.

When will people learn that the kids who have the most issues in school and cant focus and all that dont just do it coz they want to mess up theyre education, maybe they have other issues going on like adhd, they literally list the symptoms in the show, cant focus, bored easily, emotional disregulation, its literally so obvious theyre struggling and dont want to be that way
