Good brief guide to avocado growing. Like you said in other videos it is astounding that avocados aren't more widely grown in temperate climates.

I can’t believe an avocado tree will grow so close to or underneath other trees. This is really been an eye-opener. Thank you again as I said I’m enjoying your videos this morning…how many years to fruiting..mines 6 yrs old in full Sun. Like I said, I thought it was a macadamia no fruit get flowers that’s why I’m asking do you need another tree for fruiting.. Jervis bay…. mine looks like the last one, and if you’ve only had two fruits off them. I’ve got Buckley’s…

You may have just convinced me to try to add an avocado to my forest even though I’m just a hair north of where they like to grow.

When is the best time to plant an avocado tree in ground and what type of soil should I use? Can I add perlite to the big hole for extra drainage?

I think raising them up above ground level and giving them fertiliser through the year even during winter

Thanks for the video. I have some questions. The first is: Is simultaneous cross-pollination more efficient between two different verieties of avocado trees in the same field? Or can it also be done efficiently between trees of the same verieties? Which one is better? . Second: If it were better for simultaneous cross-pollination between two different verieties of avocado trees, which veriety would you prefer as the veriety that blooms simultaneously as a male and the Haas veriety as a female? Third: If we have a field with 100 trees totally, what is the appropriate number of male trees that correspond to the appropriate number of female trees or rather what is the ratio between them? What is the optimal distribution map for the distribution of those 100 trees in the field? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi, great video thanks. Do you drill holes in the PVC pipes to let the water in or does it simply find the correct level by coming up from the bottom?

Thanks for the great tips. I have an avocado in my backyard. It flowers so much to the point where there is almost no more leaves. However, in the past two years I only got a handful of fruit. Please comment why. Thanks.

Nice video. Do you wait for the top couple inches of soil to dry out first or do you keep it consistently moist?

Thanks for the tips. I've only had my two avocado trees in the ground since last summer so am not expecting fruit but there are blossoms on each one. I haven't left enough room for them to grow. They are near some lilly pillies. My plan is to thin out the lilly pillies in time as the avocado trees grow. Currently they are around one metre high. What do you think of that plan? I have one Bacon avocado and one Lamb Hass.

Great tips George. Love the heavy crop you have in this video.

You have to beat the trunk with another piece of wood, when mature! Or gently squeeze on the stem-not to squash.. do it early march… It’ll repair itself thus giving you more fruit. It’s like it “wakes” it up! You can do this with any fruit tree.

What kind of mulch would you recommend for a young avocado tree?

What should I do since I already planted at ground level? I have a 12 foot tree in San Diego (clay soil w compost and mulch) that had over 100 bbs and now only has 3 fruit. The leaves aren't nearly as dark green as yours even those I fertilize regularly. I'm afraid the roots might be too deep in the ground so nutrients aren't reaching them.
