I would probably build my house in an order that reduces the chances of finished products getting damaged.

keep a job site clean, it breeds self-awareness. Ram board the floors, protect bath, vanitys, corners have to be protected and kitchen.

I had a builder that filled the vents with all of the cut offs and sawdust from a massive reno. It was disgusting.

Try to leave a couple of temporary entry doors in if possible.
it really hurts to put a bang in a 6 k door.

I would add decent contractors that give a shit about your home. A good contractor William more than any protection on individual things

Add a competent contractor who holds his subs accountable and you don’t need half that wasted cost.

I usually do the stairs pretty much dead last, it keeps the savages from destroying them.

Last house I worked on we used 3/8” cork to cover all the flooring. You’ve got to step up your game.

Also add a ramp or some plywood on your front porch if you have concrete or brick. Contractors going in and out would say a wheelbarrow or dolly they will chip the edge of the concrete.

well tell the Contractor or have it in the Contract, where if the Subs do NOT clean up, The Contract will have to Pay certain amount of Money.

I've done heating and air for 25 years something else you need to be careful of spider web duct system. You may want every square foot of living space and storage space but spider web duct system cost you money and electric and gas bill so if you don't get a trunk line that reduces to keep the static pressure up you may not ever realize it but your power bill and gas bill will cost you
