Nowadays it is hard to find an E46 without atrocious mods or beaten up, as much as I like it I would go with a E36, even an E39

I learned stick shift on my uncle’s 2002 E46. That clutch and those synchros were a real brute, but I finally got the hang of it after twenty or thirty minutes. I couldn’t have been older than sixteen. This was fifteen years ago, and it’s one of my favorite memories with my uncle. I’m fortunate to have so many good memories like that with him, as I didn’t have a father while growing up.

My older son and me, found an E46 2003 325ci made in Germany. The car was left almost two years without being driven. Owner sometimes turn it on, but it was getting bad just there … the paint was already bad because the sun and have some issues that he even thought was the transmission… so we didn’t want to get involved in the beginning, but every time we passed by, we felt like we need to rescue that car, is like has a sad looking… we also have a feeling that was not as bad as the owner thought. So we bought it for half of the price he wanted. My got mad because for her was just . But we started working on it little by little and fortunately for us the transmission was fine, and the engine too ! We replaced the water pump, the oxygen sensors, seals, oil, tires, Batery and steering wheel pump … and the car runs very good . Next we will change the gonna do the front lower control arms . And then the paint job! Hopefully soon. It became our project and my wife now admitted the car is nice 😂

I've owned my 330Ci ZHP for almost 15 years. Apart from consumables, the only things I've had to change are sticking brake calipers. The left side mirror has stopped working but I'm hoping it will be an easy fix.

My father has owned his 323i for 24 years (bought new). It's covered 187k miles and has never let him down. In the last three years I've replaced the alternator, water pump (metal impellers fail prematurely) and repaired the GM5 module. Recently it's required two new window regulators. The rear arches/fenders have some corrosion but most E46s will have rust. A great car and a testament to BMW's engineering.
After almost a quarter of a century, Dad is looking to upgrade to an F06/F13 M6.

i’ve got a 325i 2002. amazing. maintenance is on the high end with a lot of miles but it runs so smooth

80s to mid 2000s the bmws & benzes made some of the best looking cars ever. would ya just look at it.

I used to have a e46 330 XDrive, it was a amazing car and i loved it so much. Drove it constantly, absolutely LOVED how it felt like it was glued to the road all the time.

Then someone backed into the driver side and managed to total it by crushing the entire side. Front to back just ruined, and i still miss it

E46 M3 in Laguna Seca Blue is the absolute best looking M3 ever built.

BMW was known for making very good naturally aspirated units. The sound you are mostly hearing is not some fake, fabricated rattle coming from the fart cans. Its the actual sound of an engine working properly(if working properly 😅). Its one of the reasons people(like me) like these cars so much.

Will never forget one of the highest milage cars I’ve seen was 325xi with over 350k miles on it come into our shop for a vacuum leak. Was it in immaculate condition? No. Was it drivable, comfortable, and still a great car? Hell yeah it was, and likely still is.

my dad has owned several BMWs and currently owns three (2x E36 and 1x E46) and as someone whos not a fan of BMW...the E46 is the only exception

The secret to making them sound good is catless headers and an equal length section 1. Sounds like a v12

Got two 46 M3 cabs in my collection, silver grey & Phoenix yellow…. Both immaculate inside & out, both have less that 50K on the clock, both one owner cars, both SMG ….. never had any issues with either!👊
