2:20 why do you need to make sure that the turn signals work? It's a BMW

I own 3 used BMW's.  The cost of long term ownership is about the same as any other luxury car.  2003 745i:  owned since 2007, brake job and one battery.  2005 330CIC:  owned since 2006, 2 batteries and brake job after 2 track days.  2008 535 xi wagon:  owned since 2014, nothing other than oil changes.  All of these cars are low mileage, garaged, and inspected before purchase.  The smile on your face as you enjoy driving these cars:  Priceless!!

This one is an E90. I have an E46. I have owned it for a few years with hardly any trouble. Service centres will charge heaps for parts, but you can buy them cheap online. There are mechanics that will sting you for services and repairs because they think it's European, I have a right to charge more. I found a mechanic that told me they are no different to work on than any other modern car. They are a very nice car to drive though. :-)

all i gotta say is, you get what you pay for. i'm a trained BMW tech & a owner of a '10 E60 528i for 3 years now & its been by far the best car iv ever owned out of the 16 cars iv gone through lol. however, maintenance is the biggest key to maintain these ultimate driving machines. these N52 motors (same in the E90) are very very delicate motors (electric water pump, dual vanos w/vvl, aluminum/magnesium block so special cooling must be considered, plastic cooling parts, starter is crap (had to go through 3 of them) etc) but overall its an excellent package that actually uses previous racing technology for the streets. do extensive research & find what suits you. IMO, the N54 twin power models (535i or 335i) have more issues then the N52 due to their faulty High pressure direct injection fuel pumps & injectors. with that being said, the base models are miles more reliable then the turbo models. just make sure the car has been properly recalled & you'll love your new investment.

BMW, Mercedes and Audi are excellent for leasing purposes. If you don't have deep pockets and plan to buy a used luxury vehicle for long term, then stick with Lexus, Infiniti and Acura etc.

I always get a good deal because I pull out my gun and steal the car then I go and sell it to the Yakuza then I buy a new bmw

Bmws most common problems that can happen before 100, 000km are Valve cover leaks, oil filter housing leaks, electric water pump going bad, etc.. The new ones are even worse, the turbos seem to go bad on them. But I prefer them over audis, as they are the worst luxury car with the most problems

These are all great points and really. Any used car you buy, these tips can work for. Except the service notifications, not available on many other non luxury cars.

Great advice!

That said, my e90 330d broke 2 engines in the span of 2 years, ridiculous

one time, a listing said there were brand new tires. I go to check the car out, tires had no tread on them whatsoever. i asked him about it. he responded with "They're drag slicks"

Thanks for these good advices. Gasket leaking is a problem for BMW, careful for the stains of engine oil.

Also never ever check a car you want to buy at night time
..always in bright sunlight to show every imperfection in the paint..👍

Great informative video. I bought a used 335i 2010 model with 54k miles and went through a long battle with the dealership over a valve cover gasket leak. Be sure to check for this as it is a common issue with these cars! You may not be able to spot it on the bottom plastic splash guards and instead see it on the side of the motor.

Here's something anyone buying a used BMW or Mercedes Benz. Bring it to a BMW dealer cause trust me if there's anything wrong they wanna make money on it. Listen new car dealers make a ton of money on the service department.

Only people who can't afford a new BMW have problems because they wanna roll like a hotshot and only end up paying for first buyers neglects.

Don't buy a BMW blindfolded, !Ike any car there are inherent faults. I've owned BMW's for the last eight years, what I would suggest, is read up on the common faults for the particular model you're considering, and if you think they are too difficult for you to fix yourself buy a different brand. BMW's are not any more difficult to repair than any other car, but once you've had one, you won't want anything else. Just read up on common problems and you won't regret having one.
