They’re releasing the m4 now because intel and amds ai chips drop in a few months so technically the m4 is the “fastest ai chip” until the other chips release.

Removing the other camera actually effects me, and alot of other people
There's an app called polycam that we use for 3d room scans and stuff like that (i do interior designing as a side hustle until i finish med school that's why i use the app)
The app mainly use the lidar sensor and the main camera, but in some times it uses the other camera, almost any interior designer or architect uses that app on the ipad.
There isn't any android tablet that comes even remotely close to the ipad so I'll just stick with my m2 ipad pro for now, would've been nice to have the faster ipad for faster rendering and processing time but it is what it isss

The reason they launched the m4 this early is because Apple wanted to get away from the very expensive manufacturing costs of the n3 b process. So instead of them being forced to keep a product on that process for at least another year they decided to go straight to m4. Also most likely at wwdc Apple will release m4 macs so it won’t be awhile that the iPad is the only m4 device. They probably didn’t do it mainly because of amd and other companies competing chips and that was just a bi product of the solution.

They most likely wanted to get their new chip out as fast as possible. I mean, it’s only been like half a year since M3.
This is most likely due to other chip manufacturers coming up with better chips than Apple’s. My guess is they most likely rushed to get this out the door for marketing reasons.
