My late Dad was a professional cabinetmaker. Most of his cramps (as he called them) were workshop made. Usually for a custom purpose (he liked wedges) then hung on the wall with all the others in case those purposes ever rose again.

Personally I would define a vise as a mounted clamp. They tend to be bolted under, on, or next to a table, some rotate, some don't, but a vise is usually inconvenient to pick up and move in a moments notice

Even more woodwork nostalgia. Most I used was a Stanley squeeze clamp, a metal sash clamp for some of the bigger projects, the odd c clamp for when there wasn’t enough squeeze clamps to go around, and for work on the bench, the good ol table vice

Vises function similarly to clamps, but they usually have larger contact areas. A vise features two sides, or jaws, one of which is fixed and one of which travels along a guide rod or bar. A handle is used to turn a threaded rod, which in turn causes the moveable side to slide back and forth.

A vice is for keeping a workpiece steady while you're working on it, and a clamp is for joining 2 pieces together.

Usually u have to leave ur shop to use the neighborhood bar clamp

I used a Jorgenson on the inside of an oval corrugated flu liner to round it out.
Broke my arm patting myself on the back.

I was waiting to see my bar clamp. those are fun since they slide along the bar and then gets tight when the sliding part gets turned slighlty and hold via friction and the screw on the non moving end pressing tightly against it.

A vise is fixed and you bring things to it, and a clamp moves to where you need it. prove me wrong.
