Here are, in my opinion as a professional voice-over, the 10 best sites for finding voice-over or voice acting jobs.


I’ll briefly list them all here, but you can get much more detail at our website or Patreon channel.

So here we go then, the first five you need to subscribe to, and the last five are free ones.

Don’t balk at subscribing. If you want to make money as a voice-over, and make it your full-time career, as well as initially paying for your studio gear, you really will need to pay some subscriptions for services like some voice sites, or for things like Adobe Audition editing software, your website hosting, We Transfer or Dropbox. But we in the voice-over business are very lucky, there aren’t that many outgoings to be honest, what you get in, is generally what you keep!

0:30 don't gawk at subscribing? I'm sorry, why don't you go ahead and explain why I shouldn't gawk? And I mean a GOOD reason, because your defense was beyond weak. If a website is hosting a service, and giving voice actors a market to find work through them, it stands to reason they would charge a PERCENTAGE of the jobs that you do, NOT charge you a subscription fee. That makes NO sense what-so-ever. So I will gawk and it makes perfect sense TO gawk at that.

Let me go even beyond that; if you're working with an agent to find voice over work, even THEY don't charge anything but instead, get a percent of the job's pay. That is, of course, unless they are scamming you.

Question as a child who has no idea about anything to do with jobs or voiceover jobs: What is the level of contact necessary in these jobs. Of course I know you can record at home and send it digitally in many cases, but what I'm wondering is if you have to go on a video call like zoom, or if a regular voice call, or if you can just communicate through email/the website you're using.

I've always wondered...what does the "neutral" or "mid-atlantic" accent sound like to the British ear? To most Americans now-a-days (I think) it really sounds pretty silly --unless you're hearing it in a really old movie.

Thanks Peter. Very informative for someone like me looking at possibly breaking into the industry as a retirement activity after a career of film & video making. I realised I may be able to do this after laying many temporary voice tracks during editing & then sometimes being disappointed with having to pay for vo artists who could not take direction or fit their delivery pace & energy to the style of the production. Happily its all changed now that everybody can have their own studio & work online. By the way you specified nine sites not ten, but who's counting?
