Half Way Through The Overgrown Herd From Hell

Показать описание
This is the fourth of eight sheep in this condition. The breed is Navajo Churro and their ideal shearing schedule is every 6 months. Because of life’s chaos, this herd was sitting at about 14 months of growth. Now that they have found our services, these sheep will be shorn on a proper schedule. This was a very emotional experience for all those involved. The owners were very helpful and concerned over the wellbeing of their flock. They attempted to shear a few before we arrived, but as you can see, that is a mountain of a task.🤘🏻

It’s a strange thing when a hard task feels like an easy shear🤘🏻

Thank you for your compassion for both the sheep AND the owners. It certainly makes it much more likely that positive change will be long term. Climbing out of hell is beyond hard.

Whoever trained you taught you a lot more than turning the clippers on and off. You are wise beyond your years, and I think I speak for all of us - you are an amazing young lady, and we appreciate you more than you and your sweet wife could possibly imagine!!!

Your explanation of energy exchange is the best I've Ever heard. I am severely anemic and have to get blood and iron i.v.'s frequently. When you are low on iron and blood, the energy it takes to do a normal chore is overwhelming because you're short on O2 because there's not enough iron moving it through your body, so you get worn out easily and it takes forever to recharge. BUT you LOOK normal and since you appear normal, you frequently catch shit because, obviously you can't be seriously ill if you don't look it! Being pale and out of breath doesn't count! I love your channel and you're doing an amazing job! Sending you and your lovely wife Best Wishes and Love from Memphis, TN!

I’ve been enjoying, if that’s the right word, this journey . Those poor sheep! My heart goes out to the farmers, they seem to have been through a difficult time. My heart goes out to them. At least they fed them well and got y’all out there as soon as possible. Those sheep must be feeling so much better!

I'd like to pass along my love to the owners - they've had a hard go of it - and they knew enough to take extra care of their charges - they did what they could with what they had and that's not for nothing. They sound like good people - thank you for going out to help them 😊

Stuck between a fleece and a dry heat, even our favorite shearing teacher needs a treat, so bring a fan and a six-pack before the day retreat. Greetings from South Africa 🥰🌡🤘

You did an amazing job on these sheep. Great to see that even with everything else going on, the humans still made sure the sheep are still healthy and well cared for. Also, them getting that matted after 1 missed shearing is really something. At least they are otherwise healthy, a true testament to the love and devoted care they have received.

That poor sheep! I’m surprised you didn’t faint with the heat! You looked really wiped out after that fourth sheep!

It is incedible you found that matted sheep easy to shear. Of course compared to the previous ones ...

I get such a sense of relief with every animal freed from the overgrowth. You and your partner are Godsends, and I thank God for you both. Seriously, thank God for you.

4 hours! You are awesome. The owners have gone through a lot. They must be grateful for you helping them! I just wanna say, imo Navajo Churro sheep have one of the coolest horns.

Good Evening-- This series has perfect timing. This past weekend I had a 4-head mob of truly overgrown rams to shear (2-3 year fleeces). One had two inches of a "normal" fleece with a solid two inches of felt under that, and an inch-plus of thin wool down at the skin. The techniques I saw you using last week in the previous videos really helped me get through all of them, especially the most matted. And yes, the final overgrown woolly ram seemed much more straght-forward than the first. Thanks for showing your skill, techniques, and tips. They all looked better afterward, and will look much better next spring after a "regular" shear. Thanks again!

The way that sweet thing looked over at the end and saw all that wool off of her was so endearing. It was like " did that just come off of me?". Thank you for helping to care for the owners sheep. I'm sure not everyone would want to do this or have this kind of responsibility. I worried you would keel over from the heat on the last few. You are really amazing! 🐑🐏💕

You did a fantastic job of breaking down the science of thermoregulation and resource allocation in living organisms. I've always loved your channel. As I see new videos, I cultivate more depth of respect and appreciation for you and your wife. I worded that clumsily but you get what I mean.
