I was curious but not interested in downloading until you turned off the lights, switched it to night time, and then turned on that tv. The feeling you mentioned washed over me that exact moment. Memories from many years ago kicked in and...yeah. Definitely gonna give this a shot.

This entire project blows my mind. My brother and I played multiplayer (both in the same room!) a year ago, and it was a blast. We actually have plans to try again next week, and we haven't played in a year. When we DID play a year ago, we played some SNES (multiplayer), watched FULL EPISODES of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" on another TV, and just had a blast - so yes, you can absolutely play entire files if you have them, and it's awesome.

I really hope this project does take off properly some day, as it's objectively amazing. Nobody could try this, really try it, and not walk away impressed, it's just not possible. Also, this is an AMAZING proof of concept that could eventually evolve into a full online arcade experience. Imagine "lobby" based arcades (not a single, as that's not technically feasible), where each cabinet is occupied by real players, game boys sit on tables that can really be played, cards can actually be traded, music can be had, pizza eaten, etc. Basically this concept, MMO'd (sort of), with a classic dream arcade (thinking the Foot Clan in TMNT movie!), everyone in the same space. So excited for the future, thanks for sharing this, it needs it!

I absolutely LOVE EmuVR. Was able to play NBA Jam with a friend of mine from NY. Along with other games. Its such a great nostalgic feeling. I got really emotional last time I played it because I lost my brother earlier this year and the memory of us playing in a setting like this together just got to me.

I actually have a Spirited Away poster in my EmuVR room! haha. Fuck Yeah, Studio Ghibli.

They should make it to where the cartridge games don't work sometimes and make you blow in the bottom of them using the mic. That would complete the feeling.

I'm a big fan of EMUVR. Definitely one of my favourite PC VR programs. I hope they do more with the room/scenery customisation, because to really recreate my teenage years, I need to move out of those American suburbs (local architecture) and have some more wall and furniture options. The discord community is also great for sorting out any setup issues people have.

I can see myself enjoying nostalgic devices like all the Gameboy handhelds or getting to play the DS “authentically”

VR would suit the Wiimote & nunchuck emulation too. All the motions and pointer controls would be so easy compared to emulating them on regular gamepads. Maybe they’ll add 16x9 flatscreens in the future and a way to fully customize your entire room layout.

The virtual bedroom environment with those details like glowing in the dark stars on the ceiling, the scratches on the TV, the glow of the TV on the table / walls, those really add to the experience... I was blown away when I could sit in Bigscreen's Cinema's theater in front of a really big screen, I will equally been blown away sitting in front of that old scratched tv screen watching an older movie like the Day of the dead. It is clear that the devs put a lot of love in EmuVR. A lot!!!

Spot On! This is a GRAND piece of software and a perfect example of how good non profit software can be and what a dedicated team can achieve! I've seen it grow from the start and it has only become better and better! It is true nostalgia, and for those not of the era a very realistic experience of what it was like when consoles where growing fast. Awesome times, awesome software! (...and part of me, hopes that in the future they'll make a standalone version, when the headsets have enough power)
