This is great information about putting the back cut in first on smaller trees, not just for trees with severe lean but simply to give room to drive wedges into the smaller tree diameter.

Great Dan. I’ve heard it’s a little tricky for the beginner. I guess if you over shoot with your face cut you could be in trouble if you nip the corner of the hinge. I’m a little nervous to practice this but it looks like a real handy one. Thanks!

Would've been interesting to see if the top of tree was on the move with initial back cut/wedge.

Experience I do not have. If you did this in the normal order there is no way I would get in front of that tree to film the hinge. Back cut out, notch out, and wedge in. Let me just lean in front of this....
