Google Assistant *is* disabled but it pops up unprompted all the time anyway. I swear they're deliberately making this a nightmare.

Google assistant is absolutely annoying. It keeps pausing videos and keeps making a beep sound and saying what the time is when I can literally see it above my screen. This is one of the main problems that I can't get out of.

They are making it harder all the time. They will only ever give you the illusion of control over anything and you can see they don't care too much whether you know it or not.

Google assistant is more destruptive than useful.
It should be like any other app where you are able to turn it ON and OFF as desired.
It is really stupid.

Having a problem with this currently on android, toggled off the assistant in google app AND turned off its microphone permissions in app settings, no effect. Tried restarting phone as well. Assistant makes me double tap everything to access it and sometimes opens random things.

Yeah, I've tried this, but even though it's all off, the Assistant keeps popping up and asking me if I want to turn it on!!!!

Omg thank you! My mom died last year and Google Assistant is popping up reminders about her birthday, the funeral home, all kinds of stuff! Even any of my friends' moms bdays in my calendar Google Assistant is saying it's my mom's birthday do I want to make plans. How is this invasion even allowed 😖
