Hitler's Crazy Plan to Sabotage the United States

Показать описание
At the height of the Second World War, Nazi Germany was willing to do anything to maintain its grip on the conflict. With the full power and industrial strength of the United States now poised to meet the Wehrmacht on the battlefield, Hitler sought secretive means to gain an advantage over this formidable opponent. One such method, was espionage. Operation Pastorius was a very ambitious German sabotage plot designed to sneak several agents into the United States with one goal - destruction and mayhem.

What kind of spy goes into the FBI office and asks if he is under suspicion?! That’s a pretty good way to get caught.

Imagine saving countless lives by ratting on one of the most evil dictators in the world and blowing apart a whole plan to just get sent to prison anyway

You should talk about "the dai hong dan incident". Where in 2007, a north Korean cargo ship got hijacked by Somalian pirates. And a US warship came to the rescue after hearing their distress call. Fortunately, the NK sailors took the ship back after killing 2 of the baddies, and capturing 5 more. 3 of the sailors needed medical treatment, where US Navy medical personnel helped them. When the news spread around NK, they made a VERY RARE statement, PRAISING the US navy for answering the distress call for the their sailors. Worth talking about it.

I'mma keep posting this comment until I get Simple History's attention! 😅😅

I remember reading about a similar attempt in Canada early in the war. What caused them to be suspect?? They reeked* with the smell of the inside of a german U-boat. Diesel oil smells and the other normal smells associated with the interior of WWII submarines.

The man who led the German secret service is interesting. He did everything he could to help... the allies!

This is why ethics matters. Nobody will spy for your country if you're actively oppressing them and their families.
