28 days seems too harsh but understandable considering the loss for the connections and punters, but a genuine mistake can be forgiven. We've seen riders get away with worse things..

A very long final furlong? does Doncaster use different measurements to the rest of the UK 😂

Crikey! 28 Days seems over the top for what was obviously a genuine mistake. I've seen jockeys given far less than that for dangerous riding that has endangered the life and wellbeing of other jockeys and horses.

It’s a very long final furlong here? Surely all final furlongs are the same length or am I missing something? Bizarre excuse.

Should be sent back to racing school like a driver resitting a test the clown

He knew exactly where the winning post was.

we all make mistakes its just a matter of where and when

Every furlong is "long", especially when you've backed the horse that was in front, and then the jockey decides to stand up motionless, and see if he can see the Eiffel Tower from a distance. All day long a ban...if one was cynical, you could say he threw that race...

What is the difference between a ''very long'' furlong & those of the mere ordinary type?

I can maybe see how this has happened with that shadow near the 1/2 furlong pole - moving at speed it could be mistaken for the winning line.

There should be a clear sign saying Final Post, clear to the jockeys on the track, not grandstand viewers. This isn't the first or last time jockeys will mistake winning post if there is not a radical solution.

Did you hear the noise when he eased up? Hope he didn't lynched on the way in

One commentator acually says "It is a very long final furlong here"!
All furlongs are the same length!!!

The jockey made a mistake yeah, but not as big a mistake as Google's auto-generated closed-caption settings every single time that horse's name was said.
