I was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis in September 2018. Confirmed by lab work, (my cpk was 5000) and I had a muscle biopsy done. While that was going on, John Hopkins discovered what was going on with my lungs, after an open lung surgery was done. B.O.O.P is the ILD that has been diagnosed. Life changing indeed with TWO rare diseases going on. The Dermatomyositis has been refractory for me. Nothing seems to help! Prednisone, Mycophenolate (for which I presently take daily), and just did two Rituximab infusions over a two week period. This journey with these uninvited guest (Dermatomyositis AND B.O.O.P ILD) has been challenging to say the least, but without my faith in God, I would've gave up. My faith is the source of strength I use daily. Be Encouraged fellow myositis "club members" I'm praying for as well!
