How To Clear Safari Browser Cache

In this quick tech how-to video, I’m going to show you how to enable the developer tab inside of Safari on your Mac computer, in order to delete all of the browser's cache files. Doing this may fix a website that’s acting a little off, and also clear up a bit of space on your hard drive. I have my Storage window up here so we can see how much space this will clear up.

To get started, open the Safari browser app.

Next, go to Safari in the top left, and then Preferences.

In here select the Advanced tab, and then on the bottom, check next to Show Developer menu in menu bar. You can then close the Preferences menu.

Now up in the menu bar, you’ll see Developer. Choose that, and in here find Empty Caches about halfway down.

Once you choose Empty Caches, Safari will automatically empty your cache. Go ahead and close Safari and then reopen it.

Safari’s cache has now been deleted, and if we look at the hard drive storage, we can see that I gained a little bit of space back.

And it’s that easy to delete all of the browser caches from Safari on your Mac computer.
