Diane Feinstein listened to the kids green new deal pitch but also discussed a climate change proposal and environmental resolution of her own. These kids' green new deal pitch might not have resulted in the Senator Dianne Feinstein green new deal response they were hoping for.

So let me get's this straight the Senator held up another meeting to talk to these kids, politely declines their requests, send the home with a workable policy, AND immediately hires one of the students as an intern on the spot and somehow the Senator is the one with the problem!?

Using kids as political pawns is geoss

As an educated adult and tenured elected official, we hope she knows what she's doing more than a bunch of kids. But, the fact that she chose to dismiss these beautifully intentioned, bright, and impassioned children, opposed to praising them, shows her true capacity for leadership. She could have praised and cheered the children for caring; made them feel that there is value in their efforts. She could have helped them to learn a bit about how to build on their power and focus their will to be effective leaders of the next generation. Most of all, she could have humbly listened, because the Divine often speaks through the mouths of babes.
