How to Turn Off Deep Sleep Mode on Brother Printer | Disable it from the SECRET MENU HL2350DW

In this video we turn off deep sleep mode on the brother HL-l2350dw. This setting is super annoying from the factory you can remove deep sleep from the secret menu. Disable deep sleep on your brother laser printer so it will automatically wake when you sent a print job wirelessly to it and dont have to press power or a button to wake it.

This video was very helpful because it informed me of the secret menu, so I pressed a couple of different buttons on my Brother HL-L3290CDW, and it ended up being the STOP/EXIT and the Down ( - ) buttons at the same time. Hope this helps!

In newer models (mine is 3230CDW) that has a "Cancel" button, the method in the video does not work. However, if you "Cancel" (rather than "Back") + "Down Arrow", it works fine!

Mr Genius, you saved me many hours I'm sure! I do have a different model though, the DCP-l2550DW. I followed your steps and did not QUITE get there, as it is of course a different model. However after a little trial and error, I tried down&stop, instead of down&back, and viola! It works! Hopefully adding this will help some other poor sap who has the same model I do. Cheers

I have the HL-L3290CDW, and for this model it is the minus sign (-) key and Stop/Exit that you must press simultaneously. But never would have figured it out without this video! It is beyond comprehension why hardware manufacturers hide stuff like this. This setting not only was inconvenient, but I believe it was causing disconnects between my mac and the printer that couldn't be resolved just by hitting the power button!

Thank you for this. Unfortuntely I seem to have a different problem . Did your fix . But now printer just sits in sleep mode directly after switching on. It says ready then just goes to sleep . Any help would be ace !

Perfect! No long intro, just a simple to follow hack that cleared up my print problems. Why in the world the Brother “instructions” to resolve this deep sleep issue tells you the DS mode cannot be disabled is beyond me—why do5hey care f I use a tiny bit more power??
