Sanctions work when a country relies primarily on other countries economic-wise. Russia has been becoming more and more self sufficient on purpose for a while now, so it will be interesting to see how they react to these sanctions. You sanction a country too much, drive them to desperation, and all of a sudden Sanctions mean nothing.
